NASA's Newest, Biggest Rocket

Credit: NASA

NASA's Space Launch System (SLS) Program has just passed what's called a Preliminary Design Review, meaning that we're one step closer to sending this explosive stick of awesomeness into orbit. NASA is already starting to modify the Vehicle Assembly Building in Florida to be able to handle the rocket, and when it first launches in late 2017, it'll be the heaviest system ever launched, ever.
