To develop and promote a KM Action Plan, there are several steps and phases to consider.
Companies and organizations have compiled huge and vast amounts of information. However, these organizations must be able to manage and use the massive data in a way that is helpful to them and the company's performance. That is where knowledge management comes in. KM turns all this data into something the company can use in its production and strategy targets. That is where a KM plan comes in.
If an organization is going to implement a knowledge management plan there are things that need to be considered first.
Does the organization have the current technology in place?
Reviewing the current technology and systems in place to see if the organization can support this type of KM environment is highly recommended. This may consist of working with the IT staff to determine capabilities available and determine if more support or an upgrade is necessary.
