The photo of the Sun halo was captured by Niki Giada of Italy using a Nikon D70 camera. The halo appeared during a Solar Eclipse that happened on January 4, 2011.
A Sun Halo is an optical phenomenon created by ice crystals in cirrus clouds which produce the colored or white arcs in the sky.
Niki pointed out that this photo was achieved using “no artifact, no editing, only HDR with photomatix and a color balance.”
